Access and Checkout
All students are scheduled for a library period with their class once a week for instruction and to check out library books. Students may check out a maximum of books based on grade, as shown below.
4 th-5th: up to 3 books may be brought home - due in 2 weeks
2nd - 3rd: up to 2 books may be brought home - due in 1 week
1st: 1 book checked out to the classroom until October - due in 1 week
K : 1 book checked out to the classroom
Overdue notices are sent out monthly to parent email addresses, but there are no overdue fines. Only if a book is lost will families be asked to pay for it at the replacement cost. If a book is later found during the school year, the money is refunded.
